Commissioned by The Pavilion Sutherland in 2022 as part of its opening celebrations and in an effort to
reflect back to the people of Sutherland stories from their own shire, People of the Winter Beach is an
evocative work drawn from real life interviews about lives lived in the Shire on beaches, in caves,
protecting the environment and making connections.
Directed by Liesel Badorrek and produced by Sue Donnelly, with a remarkable visual design team of Ben
Brockman and Alice Osborne, and sound by Gail Priest, People of the Winter Beach is a family
entertainment, a love story and a feast for the eyes and ears.
